Daniel Michael Tomcik is an American filmmaker born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He has always had a passion for the arts. Daniel became inspired to become an artist after watching James Cameron’s Titanic (1997) a film that would also inspire his love for movies. He began acting in high school starring in roles such as Ryan Evans in “High School Musical,” Seymour Krelborn in “Little Shop of Horrors” and the Mayor of Whoville in “Seussical."

After graduating from high school, Daniel moved to Los Angeles to study acting at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy where he graduated with top honors and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He then spent the next few years in Hollywood acting in major motion pictures such as Straight Outta Compton (2015) and HBO’s All the Way (2016). He also worked as a script reader whilst churning out a few scripts of his own. In 2017 he wrote, directed and produced his first short film The Painter. Following the positive reception to his work, he decided to focus on filmmaking full time and has since directed award-winning films such as Found (2020) and To Dust I Shall Return (2021).

Apart from filmmaking, Daniel enjoys photography, painting, running, swimming and hiking. He also feels passionate about certain issues such as animal welfare and mental health.

After nearly a decade in Hollywood, Daniel returned to Cleveland, Ohio where he currently resides and continues to write, direct and occasionally post film and television reviews on his YouTube channel.
